Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born the 19th of November, 1959. Over the past three decades Janney's performances have earned appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney was honored with many awards, including the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also given to Janney. She also won two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney came from Boston and was raised close to Dayton near Dayton, Ohio. The Kenyon College graduation earned her an honorary scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney made her television debut on television in the year 1999. She appeared as C. J. Cregg as part of NBC's political drama The West Wing from 1999-2006 in which she won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney received her Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest Actress in the Drama Series for her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex. Janney has been recognized for the prestigious six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she has won two times the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy series.
